We hear about going “Green” in our society all the time now. However as Christians we have been called to be good stewards of the earth and we need to take care of her natural resources.  Have you asked yourself...

  • How you can help?
  • Do you know what small steps we can take in this big picture?
  • How can we do this?

To find out more visit The Presbytery of Baltimore’s Care of Creation Task Group as they presents a free event to discussion this topic.

On Saturday May 3 a group of twelve Babcock members took a road trip to the Maryland Eastern Shore to spend the day at Clairvaux Farms, a community of forty homeless people in Cecil County. Our people gladly gave up a Saturday to do chores on the farm. Some of us were put to work roofing while others helped clean up the tool shed. Another group of us worked hard sorting through winter clothes to send to Good Will and clearing the racks for spring and summer clothing for the residents. We also worked in the kitchen and dining hall washing dishes after lunch, and scrubbing down shelves and walls.
Though the work projects are important, what's most rewarding is making new friends with the residents of Clairvaux Farms. When Jesus said, "the poor will always be with you," he wasn't suggesting that poverty is a reality so we better just accept it as a fact of life. Instead he was telling us God's people will always have a responsibility to go out and serve " the least of these."
Hopefully our collective experience at Clairvaux Farms on a beautiful spring day has deepened our desire to follow our Lord to those places where we can express our love for him by loving and serving our neighbor  BellTower Downlaod Page.

SERVICE PERSON PRAYER PROJECT

The Outreach Team is implementing a “SERVICE PERSON PRAYER PROJECT.” We are inviting the congregation to submit photos along with name, rank and current duty station of those service persons they would like to have included in this ministry. Before each worship service, we will display individually the picture of these service men and women and ask that you pray silently for their safe return home. Pass the word along to your friends, neighbors and family and submit photos to the church office to the attention of the Outreach Team. (Don’t forget to include name, rank and current duty station.) We would like everyone to know that Babcock is praying for our service men and women as we thank God for their willingness to serve and ask him to protect them from harm and danger.
