For Christians, Lent is a season for prayer and meditation as we consider the life of Jesus and the mystery of his death and resurrection. How does Christ's passion impact on your life and salvation? How should you respond to his redemptive love? What does God require of you and how does God empower you to follow Jesus to the cross and beyond?
Hopefully these questions are addressed in this devotional booklet written for you and your desire to grow in your love for Christ and your neighbor. The daily scripture readings are taken from both the Old and New Testaments and are selected for their themes of God's grace active throughout the story of his relationship with his chosen people, up to the present time.
You are encouraged to read each scripture passage followed by the daily devotional reading. The short "one liner" prayer is designed to jumpstart your own longer conversation with God. Throughout the day as the scripture and reading come to mind, let it be seen as an invitation from the Spirit to further contemplate God's great love for you and his hopes and dreams for your growing life in Christ.
I hope these devotions bless and keep you during your journey to the cross and then the empty tomb during this most holy season of the year.
In Christ, Harry Cahill
