Building Getting a Facelift
So what about the parking lot?
Well, since you asked… While all of the bids were being collected for the work described above, Trustees, along the Stewardship and Planning Team, received the assignment to select an architect to assist with the planning and design of several ‘infrastructure’ initiatives, some of which impinge on the completion of the parking lot design, such as where to locate the entrance and how to provide access to the third floor. Several architects were contacted to present their qualifications; two were selected to present proposals. Trustees made a recommendation to Session that was approved in late August. The S & P Team will be coordinating meetings with the various leadership groups to facilitate the architect’s work. If all goes well, presentation of the architect’s plans and recommendations to the congregation should occur later this fall.
So is that it?
Well, no. Other projects are being worked on, including repairing a section of sidewalk that has become a safety issue, trimming dead and overhanging limbs from trees, fixing a few windows and painting at the manse, and replacing a door at the end of the Education Wing.
